Not the Same Old Oceanside: A Beach Town Reinvented

When I first got introduced to San Diego, Oceanside was not a place anyone went.  Like, never.  It was a military town and was where people who were stationed at Camp Pendelton lived and that was it.  I wouldn't even stop to use the bathroom in Oceanside as I was driving from Santa Barbara to San Diego during college. So while it was technically part of San Diego County, I'd say most people in San Diego didn't want to claim it. 
Today, that has totally changed.  Oceanside is now a foodie destination that gets tons of tourists each year.  It's a great place that has everything you want from a Southern California beach town, but without the exorbitantly high prices.
